Ugh!
The summer heat is here! We are waiting for a thunderstorm to come by
any day now. To break the heat, but mostly because we need the water at
the farm. But right now it looks like we'll have to turn the irrigation
on. I suppose we shouldn't complain too much because we haven't had to
use it yet.
This week is also looking like the week of the
garlic harvest. It looks like a good crop, but please don't expect it
in your share this week. We'll have to bring it into the barn to cure
before we give it out. It stores much better this way.
Lyme's
has officially struck this year. Two of our workers came down with it
last week. But thankfully, both of them are on the mend and the rest of
us are keeping our fingers crossed. The good news, hopefully, is that
the ticks aren't out so much in the heat.
Here's the week's harvest: carrots, turnips, radishes, cucumbers, zucchini, chard, lettuce mix, basil enjoy!
